Mike Gazda

Mike Gazda joined the Randle Communications team in September 2013, after a lengthy tenure as a communications executive in professional baseball. His overall experience includes nearly two decades building and executing public/media relations and crisis communications strategies for regional, national and global audiences.

During nine seasons in Major League Baseball, Gazda worked with several of the world’s most recognized professional athletes—Bryce Harper, Stephen Strasburg, Pudge Rodriguez, Miguel Cabrera—to successfully navigate a diverse array of challenging issues. He helped open Nationals Park and served as media relations director for the Washington Nationals from 2008-13, after three seasons as media relations manager for the Miami Marlins.

Locally recognized for his work in California’s Capital City as the head of the Sacramento River Cats’ communications efforts during the team’s first five seasons (2000-2004), Gazda played a key role in establishing the River Cats brand and leveraging the organization as the premier franchise in minor league sports. He led all facets of the River Cats’ baseball, business and community PR and also handled publicity for the opening of Raley Field.

With Randle Communications, Gazda primarily serves in a leadership role for the company’s water utility clients. He leads a team of talented professionals that provides everyday internal and external communications services for Golden State Water Company, one of California’s largest regulated water providers that serves approximately one million customers throughout the state. He also acts in an advisory role for the firm’s other utility partners.

Gazda is a native of Pittsburgh and graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
