Ana Helman
Director
Ana Helman has more than a decade of experience as a media and community liaison in the public, private and non-profit sectors. In her role as director, she manages client accounts and provides strategic counsel on various projects. In addition, Helman has management responsibilities that include overseeing internal projects and pursuing business development opportunities.
Prior to joining Randle Communications in 2008, she served as Communications Director for the North State Building Industry Association (BIA). As the Association’s primary media contact, Helman was “on the record” for diverse issues related to the local housing market and community service projects. She was also the Managing Editor for the North State Builder magazine, which was distributed to more than 2,000 members.
Previously, Helman served as the Senior Consultant at @issue Consulting Group, Inc., where she managed a number of consumer and media outreach projects designed to bring attention to health care related issues. She played an integral role in securing community support and media coverage of Senator Jackie Speier’s (D-Hillsborough) legislative effort to educate children about the perils of anabolic steroids. She also led the community and legislative outreach efforts for the California HealthCare Foundation’s (CHCF) groundbreaking consumer website and outreach campaign, California Nursing Home Search. Helman’s work for CHCF began while she was an Account Executive at Stoorza Communications, where she coordinated several high profile community and political events for HealthVote 2000 - an award winning public awareness campaign designed to educate voters on the health care policy positions of state and federal candidates.
Before joining the private sector, Helman’s work in the public sector included serving as Governor Wilson’s Assistant Appointments Secretary for boards and commissions related to Food and Agriculture and Health and Welfare. Prior to joining the Wilson Administration she served as a California State Assembly Fellow.
Helman has held leadership positions in several high profile political organizations including Dole-Kemp ‘96 and the California Young Republicans, where she served as National Committeewoman and in 2001 was elected to a two year term as Chair of the statewide organization. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude in Politics from the University of San Francisco. A fifth generation Californian, she lives in Sacramento with her husband, Ted, and their children William and Abigail.
