Riggs is an Emmy Award-winning former broadcast journalist with a background of nearly 30 years in television news, 17 years of which were spent as political reporter for KCRA-TV Sacramento. Gazda spent 15 years as a communications executive in professional baseball, including his role as head of media relations during the Sacramento River Cats’ first five seasons in the capital city and most recently as the former Director of Media Relations for the MLB Washington Nationals. His experience with media relations and crisis communications represents invaluable insight in the field of media issues.
The News Team has already developed videos for a broad audience and tackled issues ranging from Medi-Cal to the impact of immigration policy on California’s economy to the Death Penalty.
